In Landscapes of Perception I assembled paintings of my surreal landscapes capturing an impression, a memory or a feeling.
They include two subcollections Wald (Secret Forest) and End of Summer.
Wald series contains forest paintings. I wanted to use the German word "Wald" meaning "forest" because of the rich cultural tradition associated with forests in Germany. Forest covers a third of the country's land and forest motifs are unavoidable from fairy tales, books, and paintings to traditions of spending time in nature. I wanted to express in my forest paintings this feeling of a special, enchanted place and this word's significance seems fitting.
The End of Summer collection is inspired by my visits to Austria, Switzerland, and southern Germany for two summers. The Alps and forests are magical and I have found many flowers and paths to paint.
